The MBTA Communities Act is a state law which requires that Waltham rezone for more multifamily housing. In response to this, Waltham has created the MBTA Communities Multi-Family Overlay District (MCMOD). City council intends to vote on this rezoning proposal, and will be hosting a public input session to solicit feedback from the general public on August 5.
Today's event is meant to educate the general public on what the MCMOD is, how it will impact our community and our current housing crisis, and how to best provide feedback at city council's Public Input Hearing. All are welcome to join and participate. This meeting will also be available over Zoom. Not a Library sponsored event.
